A workshop to help delegates understand the background to the Syrian conflict and the resettlement needs of Syran refuge families in the UK

Mallory Carlson from the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) is leading this workshop for the benefit of delegates who are welcoming Syrian refugee families in their town, city or district. These people working with newly arrived families will learn about Syrian culture and heritage, and the background to the conflict which has driven them from their homes.

The workshop will cover:
•The historical context
•Syrian culture and traditions
•The reason for the civil war
•Resettlement experiences of refugee families.

Places are limited, and if we are over-subscribed, we will allocate places to delegates who are already working with Syrian families in the East of England.
