A workshop to look at the benefits of being an active EU citizen in Bedford and understanding our rights
Are you a European citizen living in the Bedford area? Would you like to be involved in local activities to meet more people, and to improve life here in the UK?
If your passport shows that you are from an EU member state (not including the UK), you can register for a place at our ‘active citizens’ workshop. Where the registration form says 'Company' please put 'Bedford EU' - and also put which EU country is on your passport.
At the workshop, we will be discussing what it means to be an ‘active citizen’, and there will be special guests coming in to talk about the activities that they are involved in. We will also discuss topics such as:
•Voting in elections
• Ways to be more involved in our neighbourhoods & communities
After the workshop, if you would like some practical experience of working to improve your neighbourhood or community, we will try to find you a mentor. This would be someone who, just like you, has come to the UK as a citizen of another EU country and is now playing an active part in life here in the UK.
There is no charge to attend the workshop. You will receive a certificate of attendance from the East of England Local Government Association, and a small thank you gift.
To register for a place, please use the 'Register online' button below. Or if you would like us to do it for you, please contact: Sue Hay, Active Citizens Together Project Worker (m) 07920-257-964 (e) email@example.com
This workshop is brought to you by the Active Citizens Together project with funding from the EU Commission's Justice Directorate.
